Active adapter. That was the key to get 2560x1440 off of the FirePro W7000 via HDMI. Thanks again to all that helped figure out this little mystery.

Glad it all worked out. O ne of my major computer pet pee ves is when people run a non-native resolution.

Reminds me of the days when we get new monitors but my parents still insist the resolution should be 800x600.

So, where do you go to find that ‘on the spot’? Fry’s?

that looks like a MicroCenter price tag.

35 bucks, damn.

It’s not just a straight cable, contains actual conversion logic, that’s why it’s so expensive.

Micro Center. No Fry’s here in the midwest

And that was the cheapest one. They had several others.

Of course you can get them for like half that on Amazon if you can wait a bit. On the other hand, my active DP -> DL-DVI adapter was like $80 back in the day, so $35 still feels cheap to me.

Problem is if you buy it on Amazon, you might get a passive adapter branded as active from a seller hawking the same junk from Aliexpress.

Not an invalid concern. I mean Amazon’s returns are good, but it’s still annoying to have an extra delay.

Or an unsafe DP cable side . MC is very good about avoiding that type of lower cost product.
Normal DP cable is actually no more than a VGA at Best Buy. I laughed, hard.
